Trying to play Altered Beast?
-
Yep. :P
It's been sitting on my shelf for quite a few months. I want to play the game without it crashing on me.
-
Got a flashcart? Those work too.
-
Nah, I don't have a flashcart. I prefer owning the actual games. 1.0 Cards are inexpensive anyway.
-
Im gonna be getting one of those soon as well chany. Just bought Altered Beast CD.
-
I've been holding off on buying one, Altered beast was one of the first games I bought, and I seem to remember a thread from 2008 where tats tested like every card for me on every system to get the game to work. $15-20 to play a $20 game is kinda ridiculous.
I'm starting to have wonderful memories of my genesis days....
WISE FWUM YO GWABE!!!!!

There's gonna be a lot of disappointed people on the forum...

I've seen sellers who have packaged a 1.0 card with Altered Beast on eBay over the years, and I know one forum member who included one in a sale about a year or so back. It's not impossible, but finding them together is the way to go if you have just started to get your turbo collection off the ground. Good luck guys!

Im more curious than anything. I have the Hu-Card version, and just wanted to check out the CD. I've heard its horrible, but its like one of those things I have to see for myself. lol

The CD version is much better in my opinion even though it pauses every now and again for CD load times. The CD version has all the typical Audio speech parts missing from the chip version and has a few minor graphical improvements. It was so annoying to me playing the Chip version and not getting to hear(Rise from your grave). Also, the CD is a bit easier in difficulty. However, as to why there is no 2 player support is beyond me. Same thing with Golden Axe no 2 player. ](*,)

I like the CD version of Altered Beast. Much more faithful to the arcade than the Genesis version.
Here's my full review. (http://www.thebrothersduomazov.com/2011/06/altered-beast-cd.html)

You should have bought one of those flash carts in the recent group buy. If you had, you could already have the System 1 BIOS loaded on it and be playing Altered Beast RIGHT NOW.

I suppose so, but 1.0 cards are rather inexpensive to begin with. Besides, I am not really into this flash cart idea. I'd rather own the real thing.

Not only being able to play Altered Beast, you'll be able to see all the system card warning screens in Super CD games.
-
But you can do that with the more common, cheapy 2.0 cards too.
