I see plenty of people talking about their favorite games for the Tg16, but what I would like know is ??? What's the very worst game that you have ever played for the Tg16 that left you pissed off and annoyed, because the game sucked so badly ??? I personally haven't played a whole lot of games yet .. I have played about 25 plus different games or so .. And the game so far that I absolutely hate playing is Disney's Tale Spin !!! I freaking can't stand how shitty the controller movements are and it seems to be a pretty difficult game play on top of that !!! By far the worst 5 dollars I have spent on my Tg16 !!! And I have a bad feeling theirs plenty of more shitty games out there that I will be coming across while looking for the great ones .. #-o
-
Worst ones I've come across
TV sports hockey - game just sucks all the way around for me
Ballistix - although there is some merit to it, I can't really call it a game
Tale Spin - it's got a good subject and quirks, just so damn hard to control
-
Darkwing Duck - absolute poop.
-
This thread has some pretty good answers:

In all seriousness it's kind of hard to ask that question. Everyone here has surprised me as to what they like and don't like. That's good though, but when it comes to the worst game it's really hard to say. One thing for sure though, is that the ones being mentioned are probably better to stay away from. Especially Ballistix. I am probably one of the only ones here that like that game.
-

Nah dude, I like it too.
-
BALL
IS
TIX
-
Yo Bro! Ugh that game is horrid. Oh yeah and Impossamole. About the only good thing out of Impossamole is the title music and thats when its played on the Commodore 64!
-
Tv sports football / hockey
-
Blug, Tv sports football.
-
Renny Blaster
not worth the money or a CD-R
-
i like every pce turbo game ever
-
I liked TV Sports Football on my Atari ST. Then again, I'm not a huge sports video game fan, so I don't take it to seriously. I always enjoyed playing against my brother though. It's no Tecmo Super Bowl or anything, but I got enjoyment out of it.

Motoroader: extremely fun multiplayer game.
Shadow of the Beast: not sure how you're even judging this game, as the PCE version seems to be superior in as many ways as inferior to the Amiga and the Lynx comment only seems to support the rest of this post as being unserious trolling.

Racing games should have some sense of speed. Motoroader doesn't--the cars just crawl along. They got Motoroader MC right though.
Shadow of the Beast looks way better on the Amiga and personally I find early 90s CD arrangements in Shadow of the Beast (and in general) a bit too cheesy and prefer the original FM sound chip on the Amiga. The Lynx version has more interesting backgrounds on the tree and castle stage than the Turbo version.

Renny Blaster
not worth the money or a CD-R
Renny is derpy, but fun if you just soak in the odd atmosphere. I'm gonna have to say The TV Show, cause not only is it very pricey, it's almost a great game. Like it would be perfect, except they f*cked up the controls so bad they ruined it. :(

The Amiga's sound is not FM but pure sample playback... so PCM would be most accurate.
I found the Amiga tunes *way* cheesier than the excellent PCE-CD arrangements. The Amiga versions scream out at you: "THIS is a shakuhachi, and THIS is a taiko with echo. Feast upon its awesomeness!"
-
I agree with chris. Even i love the amiga bgms of sotb,
the pce/marty redbook arrangements are far superior.
So much more added atmosphere. The plains 1&2, underwater
are some of my fav. Redbook bgms ever.
And lol at the amiga FM, really would like to hear that :P

^True obey!
There are no bad Turbo games, just mis-understood play mechanics (that we will never hope to comprehend). At least ANY game on Turbo is better than EVERYTHING on CDi (<-jab to Punk)
(what, no mention of Falcon yet?)
-
TV Sports Football
Super Volleyball
Falcon
-
I tend to dislike games if they don't shine immediately, and I'm kind of annoyed at letting some crap into my collection.
Golden Axe, particularly as it's a port of something pretty good and quite simple that they've ruined.
Energy. Not spent much time with it, but it's pretty weird.
-
With regards to Energy, I think you summed up what majors was just talking about. :D
-
All the Mahjong/board games.
-

there's your problem
loved that game!
-
All the Mahjong/board games.
Agreed. Why they made so many of them (and even a arcade card game!) we will never know.
-
Someone should totally get every single one, and do a definitive side-by-side review of them to find THE BEST MAHJONG GAME EVAR!!!!*
*on the pc engine
-
Of the few I have, I would say my worse game is TV Sports Football, have no clue what I'm doing/how to pass correctly, followed closely by China Warrior, just did not like it
(compared to these games I have/played: Splatterhouse, Bonks Adventures, Bomberman, Twin Laps, Vigilante, Victory Run, Dragon Spirit (which is one of the best ones I've played) JJ and Jeff, Takin it to the Hoop)
-
Why they made so many PC Engine games for Japanese tastes (and even arcade card games!) we will never know.
-
Veigues Tactical Gladiator is quite bad.
-
Mahjong games are awesome!

Mahjong games are awesome!
especially when you get to see boobies

best Mahjong game is Mahjong Sword [/THREAD]

I nominate you to do so, since you are so fervent.
Can I get a second of this nomination?
-
btw. there is no such as a worst game on the PCE.
There are only 'less good than other' games.
:!:

I can't even play Mahjong. I nominate you.
-
Still Kaze Kiri.
-
Esteban why no Kaze Kiri love? You don't like the Ninja Action? :)
-
Sports games in general for me.
-
Camp California....
Its bad because the whole premise of the game is to prevent a nuclear power plant from being built. I like nuclear power, so therefor the game encourages me to intentionally lose.
-
A girlfriend of mine got into mahjong and enjoyed every PCE mahjong game I threw at her. She was able to point out what was good about them and how they could be improved.

It's an old wound that refuses to heal. Or, I guess it is one of the few games I hold a grudge against.
I paid lots of hard-earned $$$ for the game and had high expectations. My fault, sure, but I read stuff from folks I trusted. Well...the game was underwhelming, to say the least. I tried to like it (I like Spartan X/Kung Fu!)...I like lots of flawed games...but I just can't give Kaze Kiri another chance. I've given it far too many chances already.
I was about to write 3-5 more paragraphs but I'm too stuffed with mashed potatoes.
-
Sounds like buyer's remorse. I got Kaze Kiri as a free, unsolicited CD-R from an ebay seller BITD (2002?). Having ever heard of it until then, I had no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. It may be repetitive, but the (ninja) action is fast, the controls are simple and responsive, and the music is rocking. I should probably play it again now that I have a modded XBOX and don't have to worry about ruining my hardware with CD-Rs.

I think it's cool that nobody mentioned Nightmare Creatures this time. :)
It's a pretty weird/bad/terrible controls/wtf kind of game, but not 'The Worst' out there. :)
I nominate Drop Off. Hate that game.

GTFO ... Drop off may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the worst? (people think this, no I cannot agree with that 1 bit) I actually enjoy drop off, I think it's an unappreciated, goofy and fun game with a surprising bit of strategy. While I'll admit there are more thrilling games out there, Drop off is a solid breakout style game, with a few quirky twists. And what is the TG-16 but a system of quirky twists.
Drop off = all that is good with the TG16.
AND don't even get me started on the AWESOME box art for the game. (possibly one o the best of the NA art IMO)
-
Well, since you mentioned it: Night Creatures is shit.

It's my least favorite, so yeah. It's the worst one IMO.
Well, since you mentioned it: Night Creatures is the shit.
fixed ;) - back at ya bro!

Just played another horrible game !!! Battle Royal, WTF were Incredible Technologies thinking when they put out that disaster of a game ??? And the worst part about it is that now it's in my collection of Hu cards .. Wow what a waste of space in my Samsonite booklet of Hu Cards !!!
-
I just got slime world and i have to admit it wasn't too hot. I like the Lynx version though. I couldn't figure out how to use the items and it wouldn't pause. The cutscenes are kinda cool though and Todd's girlfriend is a babe.

What did your four other friends think of it?

A chaotic mess. Hence the reason why I traded it off.

OK, I have been known to slag off Drop Rock, but I really should give it another chance. The last time I played it was when my friend got it in the early 90's because it was the least expensive TG-16 title at EB. It sucks to be poor! We waited for price drops.
TRUTH: I promise not to condemn Drop Rock as the absolute Worst Game until I have given it another chance. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

Falcon and Gunboat!!! I never could get myself to enjoy either of those two.

I tried to give falcon a chance to many... What a horrible game...
-
Camp California....
Its bad because the whole premise of the game is to prevent a nuclear power plant from being built. I like nuclear power, so therefor the game encourages me to intentionally lose.
Not exactly... the premise is to stop a nuclear power plant from being built on the beach. They should build it somewhere else that's not on this bloody beach.

A game that everyone can stand behind, regardless of their political leanings! (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)
