The comic didn't do T.Ractorhead or Princess Za any justice as far as aesthetics go. Thank goodness their actual appearances in the games were much better.

Plus, I think nuclear Bonk has been used in other games since. It's not unusual for companies to change the look of a character between US & Japan. Both Crash Bandicoot, & Lara Croft had changes made when brought to Japan. And then there's Kirby, who looks angry in his US art, as if he's a pink dude with an attitude! :D
