Still very much a work in progress...
http://archives.tg-16.com/music_database.htm (http://archives.tg-16.com/music_database.htm)
NOTES:
(1) I think I'll add a "genre" category (action rpg, shoot-em-up, etc.) because folks may want to explore music by genre.
(2) When superdeadite has lots of X68000 stuff I'll be happier.
(3) blah blah blah
(4) If you want to help... http://archives.tg-16.com/music_database.htm#help

I've got a few games I could send you files for but I'd need some help. Assuming I'm working with CDs, how do I get the chip tunes out?

Sweet!! Now I can listen to the Neutopia Dirth music over and over again until I poop my pants!!

Ahhhh, this is the pain we face. Some brilliant folks here have ripped PSG tunes (chiptunes) from CD-ROM games...but it requires fantastic skills beyond my ability. Bonknuts (or Covell)...let's see, he's ripped PSG tunes from Download 2 and some basic stuff from Fiend Hunter (I think it was one of them, anyway). The tunes from Download 2 are great, too. Someone ripped the PSG from Ys I & II (the music from the towns)...
Ripped PSG from CD-ROM is available as .hes files, which you play in an emulator.
I'll put this out to the gurus: is our only option (as technical imbeciles) to manually capture the songs (say, from a sound test)?

I used to be able to send iso's to King Shriek(I think that was his name), & he'd dig into them & pull out the hes files, but he got out of that years ago unfortunately. I've been trying to find a link to his site, but maybe the link went dead & I deleted it?

This is great, I'm always looking for chip tune and other TG music, so I'll surely be downloading quite a bit from this site.

Tonight I finally got to sit and really dig into all these tunes, and I really wanted to say THANK YOU for doing this. I'm in heaven.

STATUS: OK, currently at ~215+ listings and I still have a lot of work to do. I'm just trying to get all the basic stuff done before I can fine-tune things and get fussy.
REQUEST: I'd love to include (high-quality, tagged) MegaDrive/Arcade/NES/PC/etc. soundtracks for games that were multi-platform. This would allow uberdorks (like me) to compare tunes. Here's an example (not the highest quality, and it's a medley, but still....) for SPLATTERHOUSE (pce vs. arcade) (http://archives.tg-16.com/music_database.htm?col=jp&val=splat) (at least, I think those tunes are from arcade... can anyone verify it for me? THANKS :) )
ALSO: HA! I'm trying to recall where I found that medley of Splatterhouse tunes... I think it was digi.k? or termis? someone here? years and years ago?
