Title: Jinmu Denshou
Post by: VenomMacbeth on February 15, 2013, 06:17:19 PM
Just ordered this game on a whim.  I can't seem to find much on it online, but most sources cite it as being pretty poor.  Is the game enjoyable at all, or did I flop completely?

It aint great.

Some people seem to like it, I think you just have to force yourself. At least it's not Deep Blue.

I like it, but its bitch hard. Basically its Space Harrier but you are a Samurai and its too f*cking hard to even beat the 2nd level.

The music is great and the graphics are outstanding.  Gameplay gets ridiculously hard in the later levels, so it only became fun after making some cheat codes (RAM hacks) for it.

I thought everything about this game sucked. Its totally retarded and all over the place. The graphics were barely animated which f*cks with the depth perception at times, and there is just a bunch of crap thrown all over the screen often. Music is cruddy too. Later areas in the game have you jumping on floating stones and shit and it becomes cumbersome and breaks what little flow the game had to begin with. Unless this game was like a buck, I'd not buy it. Even then, I'd probably not.

I like the game. Although one can't help to think while playing. Doesn't this guy ever get tired from all that running?

He is a blond samurai.  Obviously this is a fantasy game.

And yet, for all his ability to run non-stop, he couldn't run around a few rocks.

Not as tired as the guy hanging on for dear life to a rocket cannon with only his arms, as he's yanked back and forth through the air at high speeds.

I haven't played this game that much, but I like it.   Got stuck on level 3, the first platforming stage.

I've never thought of this game being any good. The grafx and animation are quite dull and there isn't so much fun playing it.
But it's a while since I have fired this one up, maybe I should give it another try some day :)

And he's not the only one in gaming, in the japanese version of Kenseiden (SMS) the samurai is also unexplained blond.

I like the game, but hate the end levels with the pits.

It looks pretty awful and plays like Space Harrier with parksinsons, so, its pretty rough.

Its like EGA quality shit basically.

COMRADE, now that you have this glorious HuCARD in your hands, what do you make of it?

I've wanted to like it, but I do get frustrated with it. Still, my love for Space Harrier and Blondes has kept me from tossing  giving up on it completely.

I just wish it was a bit more forgiving and playable. Then I'd love this quirky little crapgame. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcds.png)

I'm pretty much in the same boat.  The concept of being able to move forward or back is something I find insanely cool (I don't believe there are many, if any other 'super scaler' games that allow you to do that!)  Like others, I get hung up on level three.  It's just so hard to make it through the difficult platforming AND the constant enemy attacks.

I wish I hadn't payed $15 as it's really worth closer to $5, but I like the game for its uniqueness & the gameplay isn't actually too bad once you get the hang of it.
