Yeah I guess we didn't exactly plan for lightbulb Armageddon damage.

Meh, shit happens. I wasn't expecting anything anytime soon anyway, but ya might want to look at doing more regular backups going forward.
Ah f*ck, you SOB! We got "punked" on something like this ?? Pffffft. Goddamn it! I feel so stupid for buying his story; I rationalized the plausibility of it, bulb breaking on the metal chassis of a PC, arc'ing for a bit and sending raw 120V AC into it if only for a second or two before the breaker tripped and what not. But then, technically, the grounded chassis/body of a PC shouldn't be connected to the motherboard and damage shouldn't have occurred in theory unless you're dealing with super high voltages, so I dunno... All that said, this was Arkhan...... f*ck, and I wondered why he was passing posts and questions by, not really taking the advice too seriously, etc... Naw, that shit wasn't cool, dude... Not at all!

Not at all!I thought it was funny. :) But seriously though, it wouldn't surprise me if a bulb did crash into the mobo and kill everything if it was some cheapie PC chips motherboard or something. Here I was talling up yet another project DOA due to hardware failure (I doubt anyone remembers the Dragon Quest V fiasco). Anyway, looks like I need to buy yet another homebrewn gem!
The story is based off something that really happened though. :DAbout the only time I have ever seen a motheboard lite up was when my boss put in a pciepxress connector where you were supposed to put in the 4 pin power connector. It actually blew the capacitors on the board.
Ordered! Cmon peeps, pony up and buy dis shit!Seriously. I don't want to see anyone signing up for a PP raffle three months from now.
Congrats guys!
I tried to egg everyone on to no success.
Everyone - you're in for a treat! Superb game!
Ark, USPS has priority rate poster tubes that you can get for free. They'll deliver them to your house too if you order them from their website.

I think they both are probably big enough for you to ship a game and a poster in one tube. They are't flat rate though, so you'd have to get a ship est based on weight for each place you send it.
If you haven't shipped mine yet, I'd like to add a poster as well. I'll shoot you an email.
LOL, this was a stupid joke arkhan :^o ..
But congrats for the release, and all your team
I think this was brought up before, but.... Any chance of seeing a Hu build of this? I seem to recall that it was designed with CD in mind, but I don't remember if a Hu release was ruled out altogether or was just unlikely.
Ooh, the banner came out OK. Looks really nice!
The rest of the packaging is all Paul's handy work. Wait til you guys see the CD itself. I think it looks awesome. Hopefully you guys do too.
I should also mention that I love the packaging artwork. It looks great!
If you can, post a video up of it. So far what I have seen looks good, esp the visuals. I will probably be picking it up after I move next month.
Purchased!
Are you marking these up, a la Insanity, to expose eBay gougers later?
Ok i bought it :) but tell me more about the posters.. and anything else you have coming out so i could combine shipping ;)
I've already planned on doing that, and someone basically already took advantage of the concept by asking in a PM.I'd do this deal. I don't have either yet. I'm one of those irritating international customers though. PM sent.
If anyone else wants to, feel free to shoot me a PM or email.
I did 50$ for both games.
For everyone who really wants to know....
He's not joking. I really did knock a light (a swing arm lamp) into the chassis of a computer.
Interestingly, the mobo itself was un-harmed (and I'm still using it - it's a Pentium I ), probably because it was on plastic stand-offs.
Yes, the lamp and the computer were on the same power strip. Apparently the power strip was not quick enough, as this accident blew the fuse in the main fusebox. Don't know if a GFI would have helped, but I'll keep it in mind.
And needless to say, the lamps around my work area are now florescents - I hope they won't fry anything if I do it again :)
Also, because I want the post office to taste my wrath when I make them process all these boxes.Hell yeah, tell them to eat that shit. On the bright side, it seems Pay Pal still charges the same old price for printing shipping labels.
It's what they get for upping the priority rate.
Sort of, yeah.I may have to check it out then.
All current orders are now en route to humans.

Could you explain to me out of curiosity, how Spanish addresses work?
There are º symbols and such in the numbers. It was definitely different.
The Aetherbyte "About" page needs updated.
Now that more people have had it, anyone else have any thoughts on it? :)
I would definitely buy one, but currently, my system only plays HuCards.

Sure: it's my favorite homebrew/indie Turbo game ever released. And I mean this in no way to disrespect the efforts made by others and the games that have come out. But this is the one I can sit down with for a quick pick-up-and-play session and wind up blowing hours on. On the surface, it seems to be just another Pac-Man clone. But the little touches you've put in there are so clever and well-implemented that it really stands apart from other games I've played in this style. It also shows your growth as a game-designer, and I can't wait to see more stuff from you (hint: mascot-platformer, a la Bonk or cartoony shooter, a la Zonk? I can dream).
So yeah, those are my thoughts.I would definitely buy one, but currently, my system only plays HuCards.
Here ya go. (http://www.magicengine.com/uk_index.php?sessid=wmv4uEje2n2RotQE_BnuqA8FzSqg)
I know! I really meant no offense as I really love Mysterious Song! Please don't hate me! ;)
Also, I can't wait to play Jungle Bros. The 16-bit platformer is my favorite type of game.
Is there any footage of the final release i saw the prototype video that was of it in early production. Love to check it out
Need to get me a copy for sure, but money is tight right now, hopefully when I have a bit more disposable income I can pick up a copy of PP, Insantiy and the reprint of Meteor Blaster. I already own Implode and Mysterious Song, so I'd like to get other homebrews as well. I think that the efforts of home brew devs are helping to strengthen the TG catalog for sure.
GIT DOWN ON IT.
\o/
I didn't draw it, lol.
My womanoid doodled it, and Sunteam Paul colored it.
Well, there IS a level - picker cheat code.
Someone will figure it out eventually.
:)
I was informed by someone, that there is a way to run AND collect the gold bars as you go. :) Just have the turbo switch up.

Muzz of L1 Games just posted a video review!

I just tried using TurboRip to copy my version of PP to my JXD S7300 and it crashed Turborip. 3 times in a row. After rebooting.
So my question is: have you intentionally come up with a way to prevent people from ripping your game, or is this a happy accident?

Happy accident, maybe? :)
Quick question ark - has a homebrew platformer been developed yet for Turbob?

Jungle Bros.
Well, if this one were done, that would technically be correct, but as it is still in development, the correct answer is "Not yet, but be patient."
I have FINALLY bought a copy of this. I haven't received any confirmation yet, though. Has my game been shipped, Arkhan?
