Title: 30 year old woman sets Splatterhouse score record

She set the record on the arcade version, but, in the article, it mentioned she got a TG-16 years ago when she was younger. Her dad bought it for her. One of the early games she had for it - Splatterhouse.

Ah, I haven't been posting here lately, and hadn't visited that thread much. I only just now heard about it, since I saw the examiner link.

If anything, it shows that the news is getting around, and outside of video game related news sites!

Meh, playing Splatterhouse for score is pretty dumb.  As you have just keep killing yourself over and over again on the embryo stage.  As at the hear enemies keep spawning forever.  Splatterhouse is not a game one plays for score, you get the 1 life clear, and you be done.

There's a thread about this over on shmups, apparently the real Japanese record is more then double what she got.  Why do people still give a shit about TwinGalaxies?  They are such a worthless group.

Well, someone's got to authenticate the scores. I don't see another group stepping in to do it. Why not TwinGalaxies? I know they have some problems (I watched King of Kong), but that doesn't mean they're doomed to irrelevance.
