Title: RAU-30 SG
Post by: mrchuck999 on February 23, 2014, 03:35:56 AM
Hi Everyone,
Can anyone tell me, Does the RAU-30 deliver power to run the Supergrafx so it does not need its own power supply? It would make sense since the little PCE gets its power through the cd-rom interface port, but I need to confirm this since I do not own the RAU-30 yet. :-k

I believe the last time I used a RAU-30 with a supergrafx I had to power the SGX with its own supply.

the RAU 30 only serves as a connection extension between the SGFX and the IFU30/SCD device., since the SGFX won't fit into those by default.

Thanks Tatsujin,
Please note: The SG does fit into the SuperCDROM2 add-on. and can be powered with a special jumper from the SuperCD to the SG. It is curious that NEC did not power the SG via the RAU-30 umbilical cord.

How does that work for the video if one plugs the SGX in this device?

Does it use the video out of the SGX or the one of the IFU-30?

I assume the RAU-30 because of the audio signals coming from CD, but just curious. I have a SGX and an IFU-30 and I contemplating the idea of either getting an RAU-30 or a Super-CD-Rom², and then do tha appropriate RGB mod for whichever ones.

Just make sure you have 6 square feet of surface to place the SGX+SCD2. It's glorious.
