I have 2 copies of Power League, however one of them has this crazy looking sticker on the case.
I can read 88, Caravan, and Soft (software) on the sticker but I'm not sure as to the overall message.
Discussion in chat leads me to believe it is probably just a sticker advertising it as the caravan title for that year, but a full translation of the sticker from anyone who is good at kanji would be appreciated.

'Tis teh rarez caravan gold version. Sell it to a Frenchy collectard for big monies!

This is not a collector version at all. This is the normal version but as you've guessed, the stickers says it's the game the 1988 Caravan is based on. The Power League Gold version is derived form this version.
You can find the same kind of stickers on some copies of Gunhed.

Thanks for the response!
Do you know the literal translation of what it says on the sticker?

Hmmm...the content is not as exciting as the way the sticker is styled.

I agree with esteban, everything always looks more exciting written in Japanese.

Funny you should mention this. I realized the same thing recently. Like others have noted, a few other games also received this same treatment (where some copies have a "bonus" sticker).
