I know about turbografx-16 boxes. :-"
but i didnt know that some CD games had one too until recently.
so does it mean that every cd games had one ? i hope not ](*,)
out of my 30 cd games only one seem to have a box..
and i thought it was a HU-card until yesterday.
--> Lord of the rising sun
didnt notice that huge CD label printed on front at first ...
must had eye cancer at that time or something like it #-o
-
Almost all CD titles branded as regular (non-super) CDs had boxes, with Splash Lake, Vasteel, and Buster Bros. being the exceptions.
-
damn
so that mean that cosmic fantasy 2, valis 2-3 and ys
had a box too..
....and here i wanted to get as much boxes i could get ...
i feel some kind of depress cloud hanging over my head :-k
-
Nullity meant Exile Wicked Phenomenon came with a SuperGrafx-style sleeve.
damn

If you wanted to get as many boxes as you can, then finding out that there are many more than you thought should be a good thing.
If you were happy collecting what you thought existed and have no emotional attachment to a series of cardboard boxes you weren't aware of before yesterday, then you shouldn't worry about possessing them.

-
It's all about playing the games.
-
Anyway :)
thank you for the precious info,
too late anyway to start looking for boxes now
its like a witch hunt around here :?

did some of you had some success showing your wife/kids/friends how much a turbografx/PCe

i did try many tricks to make them change their minds... but its always about that damn blue

The games that my wife/daughter enjoy playing:
Galaga '90/'88 (because they knew this game from arcade)
Bonk series
Bomberman series
Parasol Stars
KLAX (just kidding!)
-
Let her play Bonk. Bitches love Bonk. B)
At least, that's the only one I can get m'lady to play, other than Granola Snake (Gomola Speed). Make sure you start her on the first one, though. The second & third are a more cutesy...ironically, my wife didn't care for that. x_x
-
I think there are something like 110 boxed games total; 84 of them being hucards and the remainder being CD games.

Get better friends, wives, and kids.

Games that my better half loves playing together with me and friends:
Salamander.
And Bomberman 94. 'Cause nothing gets better than cute penguins dancing to the battle mode music.
-
It's all about playing the games.
...and finger blasting the boxes and manuals.
EDIT: I second the Bomberman series. Splash Lake too.

she did like bonks...so i was on the hunt to get the other 2 games.
And castlevania : rondo of blood.
but now its getting harder to get her interested

So this is this only Turbo CD games that have paper boxes? I never seen Japanese CDs with an outer box.
-
There are a few PCE games that came in boxes, like Pachiokun and Forgotten Worlds; they were bundled with controllers, hence the box.
-
3x3 Eyes also came in a cardboard box.
There's a Chinese war sim or something that I've seen boxed. It might have been packed with a Memory Base 128 or equivalent or something.

I think you're talking about Nobunaga No Yabou - Bushou Fuu Unroku and the Koei Save Kun.
Off the top of my head some other PC Engine games that have a box are
Akiyama Jin
Sangokushi Eiketsu Tenka Ni Nozomu
Idol Hanafuda FanClub
Mahjong Gakuen (with VHS tape in box)
and Circus Lido has a kind of slip cover
-
The Super Grafx games came in cardboard sleeves.
-
Interesting.
BTW do anyone know why some CD games come in double CD jewel cases despite only using one disk, leaving the second disk compartment empty. First time I saw it on a used game I bought, I thought one disk was missing and I almost asked for a refund.
I guess they are using standard 2 disk jewel cases to make room for a thicker manual or something?
-
The double jewel cases usually had more than just the manual inside.
Vasteel for instance has a rather large map or poster with the Solar system from that game on it describing the planets.
John Madden has a offense and defense double sided fold out.

It's for thicker manuals and extra docs. Monster Maker only has a manual which is too thick for a standard jewel case, so it has a special extra thick one. It would have been better if they had just used a double disc case.
The original Tengai Makyou Ziria has an iridescent sticker sheet for the back tray insert. So the second disc tray slot is taken up by a sheet of foam.
-
So they hide the extra disc tray in that game. On pictures it almost looks like it comes with an extra CD.
I use the extra disc trays for my burned CDs. Only problem is to remember which jewel case holds what CD.
-
There are a handful of games (like Lummy and Yuna) that came with a second disc, but it's just a music cd or HuVideo disc.
-

One easy thing to remember is that there aren't any 2-disc PC Engine games.
-
I mean remembering where I put my burned discs. Did I put my burned Dracula X in the Tengai Makyou case or the Lodoss case?

Get better friends, wives, and kids.
Hahaha! This holds a personal truth to my current life. My kids and friends love video games and like the TG. My wife hates video games. It seems I may be shopping for a new wife soon anyways.
