Title: ADPCM Sound
Post by: Windytune on November 12, 2007, 09:02:25 AM
Recently purchased a PCE Duo, the system will play all CD audio, background music, but will not play the ADPCM sounds. I researched in another thread that the cause was a faulty M5205 OKI chip. I purchased one of these replacement chips. Now, the question is where does it go, and how do I go about securing it into place?

It might go in the same place as the faulty chip and is likely soldered in place..... obviously.  :)

On a more serious note: try to contact fellow board member D-Lite.  He's quite knowledgeable with all things hardware and has performed this operation once or twice (if I remember correctly).  He's been pretty busy as of late and it might take him a bit to respond, so be patient.
