Title: virtual cushion
Post by: Gogan on June 25, 2010, 06:57:53 AM
Is this thing worth a damn? Anybody have one? I get the feeling it just vibrates a bit, like a ps3 controller or the like
Still tho, would love to pick one up

Watch SuperDeadite's for a thorough description of its awesomeness.

Thanks Necro. The Virtual Cushion is a weird but cool little contraption. It's certainly more effective then a standard vibrating controller. The best feature is that it will work with just about every system imaginable. Even standard pocket mp3 players will work. PS2 Rez+Cushion+Trance Vibrator+Dual Shock= earthquake zone. haha :D

I'm using it also sometimes to watch tensionful movies :)
And it can be used as a cool NEC subwoofer as well.

Besides MM Jupiter and Image Fight2, what other games supported it ? any ideas?
Now I regret selling off my IM2... that game was just too hard for me. damn.

It's certainly more effective then a standard vibrating controller.
More effective at vibrating your body, perhaps, but not in a controlled fashion. Unlike a controller, which can be programmed to vibrate at specific moments, the cushion is wholly dependent on the bass in the tunes/effects; while that's good in shooties (explosions tend to have lots of bass), it ain't so great in other games.

My wife made an interesting point about this.... with the audio jack coming directly out of the back, is there a problem with damage to the jack since you have to lean your body against it?
