Title: I'd like to know more about coryoon
Post by: stockspyder on September 05, 2010, 01:32:23 PM
i don't know what it is worth, the rarity, or significance of this title. I've heard it's not as great as sapphire and good at best, but would still like to know more history about this title.

It uses the same game engine as Air Zonk. It's very similar in gameplay in that regard, and the graphics and music have the same sort of cartoony quality. If you've played AZ, Coryoon will feel very familiar. It's a very good game, but very easy. If you are patient you can find a copy for a decent price..... Around $40 is probably the best you can hope for, but I haven't been on the market for a copy of Coryoon for a number of years so that may have changed.

thats cool to know. it was really hard to see what was happening in youtube videos, they were bit grainy so all i could see was that it was a shooter

It's really good fun. Great music, lots of parallax, many sprites on screen, never a dull moment. Certainly worth tracking down.

I didn't know much of this game til now, thank you for the link to the review.

Air Zonk is easily a top 5 game on the TG16, and I'd be very interested in picking this up.  Any of you guys have a spare copy for sale?  :)

The only thing I didn't like about the game is all damn fruit flying everywhere.  Every time you kill something fruit flys out of it.  To me, as much of it goes flying around it just was annoying.

HAHA, $200 is ludicrous. At least wait until you find one for under $100.

i lost this game, yes, the current price ranges from US$90 to US$200, i suppose the it's become a rare game and it does not help when ebay seller push up it's price to cope with demand

I used to own this.. apart from some fantastic drum samples the game really didn't grab me and I had a tough decision on whether to keep it or sell.. I decided to sell it after a while which I did regret (especially since I sold it before youtube appeared)

there's too much stuff happening on screen and the designs I wasn't too fond off even tho I love cute stuff.  there is an hidden option to turn off some of those food and power-ups but then it becomes dull...

I advise you to pick it up as a pc engine collector, It is one of the better examples showing the pc engine's sprite handling and music department.  I can't remember how much I paid for it back in 2003~4 but it was a lil' cheaper than today's prices.

I'm surprised at all the hate over the fruit in this game; I always viewed the fruit as one of the game's charms.
