Damn, PCE Homebrew is really starting to pick up the pace at the moment. There's a lot of exciting stuff beginning to happen, let's keep the ball rolling!

I hope this is the icing on the cake, and that the things Aetherbyte gets going really get people going.
The next video will be posted sometime in June, after the CCAG. We'll have some more stuff besides pyramid plunder to demo.

I...don't understand WTF this is.
I hear music from Insanity though, and that I like very much.

[EDIT] Also, about the video, Awesome. Next question, you wanna do a chip tune for a Jungle Bros. project? Further down the road but just thought I would ask hehe....

Did you copy the relevant code from the system card to pull this off, or is it entirely original code? Either way is cool with me. :D
Its redone. Cool edit, fiddling, experimenting and testing. Me complaining because im OCD. Yanking it out of the BIOS would be mental. It's not like yanking that crap out would make much sense, and you'd be rolling around screaming at it for awhile.
We've already had HuCard chiptune code before (remember that original PCE girl demo I did, playing Frogs theme from CTrigger?!?! That was awhile ago!.... and had waves ripped from Neutopia, lol), and now with the fully fleshed out MML setup, it just kicks ass. Having a definite guide (develo book) explaining things makes it easier to mimic what the CD stuff was doing. There's enough features in there to make it completely perfect for chiptunes both for demos and games.
and, did you get a table or something for CCAG? lol

Wow! Those chiptunes sound amazing; better than some of the stuff put out in the system's prime! Great job getting them to work on a HuCard!

No.... but, uh.... I am gonna try and persuade one of the people who IS going to take a demo, I imagine someone is going and I imagine they wouldn't mind taking Jungle Bros. Proto Demo with them. Of course if I am wrong, then all this is for not.... Maybe its presumptuous.... but the reason is, it seems to me that, I could have swore I made plans with someone already to do take the Demo.... hmmmm....

O_O now that's a compliment! Thanks a ton! I'm glad everyone seems to like the Insanity music. I put alot of focus on getting the sound stuff in Insanity to be awesome since the game itself is just Berzerk, and the graphics suck more than a toothless hooker.

Well, the reasons for the success are something like this:
1) I just had to have that Develo book and develo box... and ended up finding all the music stuff in it near the back and sat and figured out stuff. Talk about opening the flood gates. Now I can sort-of read RPGs as I play them!
2) I hate trackers. They're the devil.
3) I love MML (which is what the Develo stuff was geared towards), and worked alot of MSX style MML stuff into the Squirrel format. That whole scene proved MML is an amazingly great way to do music and sound effects for demos/games. They've been doing it this way since before I was even born.
4) I'm OCD and a pain in the ass. I don't like to have half-ass stuff going on. Half ass music tools = no. Once I get an idea or a plan, I tend to make sure it happens, and as nicely as possible.
5) TheOldMan has a knack for this stuff, and a lot of 80s wisdom to impart to make sure I'm not doing anything stupid. Hes also the only person I know crazy enough to do some of the stuff he does.
When you combine my obnoxious pain in the ass tendencies with what he brings to the table, you get things like this. :D
I hope as many of you as possible can make it out to the CCAG this June. To those of you that can't don't worry, I will film it.
We've got alot of great things planned to show off for Retrocade.
and I have a ton of INTV crap to sell.

You guys made plans with me, for the show last year, but didn't have anything in time so I just demo'd MSR..
I'm not sure how much free table space/stuff I will have this year to put another display in . Hopefully I can. I don't know if Rover got tables for himself or not. if not already, there are no open tables anymore... so....
and after the show, things will be released. I like to show them off alot before handing them out, as a way to tardproof them and really make sure we didn't miss stuff.
I will call it Squirrel 3. its that awesome.
Maybe I will even call it Cyber Squirrel MML Tookit Extravaganza.

Damn, I bet that is what I was thinking. Well, if you have ANY space at all, let me know. On a side note, I know I'm getting old but DAMN my memory is SHOT!!!

There is a pretty full plate of Aetherbyte excitement in store, and I already promised a good wedge of the table to a friend who is going to sell some Animu stuff, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

I'm not gonna be there. I'm on the island again, with no chance of leaving again anytime soon.

Sounds awesome, but why the switch away from using the CD stuff? Are you gonna make new hueys? 8)
Well, you can still build and do chep tunes for CD, but for people that just want to make music to listen to, having to go through all the effort of building and mounting a .iso is kind of a PITA. Since the Huey stuff is the same as the CD stuff now, your tune will sound the same regardless. It makes for more versatility with Squirrel!
so now the process will result in a .pce that you can fire up, or put on a frashcart!
As for making new hueys, too much work. :)
