I still got a big ass panasonic widescreen 36" CRT which I doubt I can ever sell for a decent price..  these days I'm happy with my panasonic plasma tv..

I'd say sony is best for the old crt's.. but I don't know much about their lifespans except the very older triniton models did have some problem with colour after a few years..

I've never actually seen a CRT that had RGB inputs. Where did you guys find yours?

In the US only pro monitors have RGB. If there are any consumer "television" monitors (ie: with tuners) with RGB I've never see one.

i finely got the BNC adapters for my plasma.
so now i have compared component to RGB
RGB definitely wins

(PS my plasma is a PVM too. (no tuner, specked for commercial use))

I second's Zeta's recommendation... I have a 29" (or is it 30"?) JVC from, like, 2003 or 2002 or something that has simply one of the best picture's I've seen on a CRT. Even over composite, the Duo looks really sharp.

3rd... i have a 27" JVC D-series... about the same year, nice dark screen and brilliant colours.
i would spend money to get this tv fixed if she ever starts to go on me.

I used to have a Toshiba with the composite/component/s-video inputs that seems to get mentioned a lot in these kinds of threads and I really think it looked the best of all the CRTs. My friend and I ended up getting the same TV because it looks so nice, and it think it's the same TV in the Game Sack video discussing the TV issue. Recommended!

I have a 13" sony trinitron PVM monitor and a 27" sony trinitron flat screen crt. They both look excellent.
The early 2000s Sony CRTs are perfect because they have componant, s vid, composite and rf so you can hook up anything to it and it'll look great and still use a light gun.
I also recommend the PVM monitors, they look fantastic and are perfect for shmups.

So i noticed that when playing my wii on my 27" Sanyo CRT that i will get a light blue circle and a yellow one in the middle of the screen. i haven not noticed this while playing my pc-duo r or my saturn.  I currently have my wii hooked uo using the RGB connection. I have not tried it with AV.

getting the blue and yellow circle is truly bizarre, and not input mode dependent.
if the image is drawn off screen (bright edges), it can reflect, causing odd curved effects

^maybe thats why i only get it on the wii. I set it up as 4:3 aspect so that shouldnt be the issue. But like i said i have only noticed it with the wii
