Turbo Grafx CD just died on me.
« on: November 28, 2005, 11:16:35 AM »
Ive had this system since 1991 and have been playing it ever since.  I had not used it in a few month and today when I tried playing A CD game it just wouldnt spin anymore.   :(   Does anyone know of a reliable shop that fixes the CD unit?  Thanks in advance.

They are based in Canada, so I would contact them for details.  Seems to be a pretty cool place to send it.

Good luck.   Im very sorry to hear about your dead TG CD

Hey that's a great site. Fixing TGCD and PCE CD units must be very hard to do since they are so compact, I certainly hope that site can fix a TGCD. If you do decide to get it fixed by them, let me know how everything went so incase if my PCE CD unit stops working I can send it to them.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Thanks for the kind words!

I've worked on some TG16CD units before, so odds are good it's fixable. I have a better selection of Duo parts (optics especially), but have good luck with TG16CD's.

Also, consider D-Lite on these forums. While I do excellent work, on all game consoles, D-Lite really knows the Duo and TG16 inside and out. He's more of a specialist than I, when it comes to NEC consoles. Without pioneers like D-Lite, OSG would not be able to offer the breadth of NEC systems services it does.
