$35 for an Arcade Pro? Does that site still have any left :D ? If so, post the link and I'll take one!

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Yea for now 200 bucks is not an option. At least not yet. These next few months I'll hopefully be stacking some finances and will be able do something soon. I managed to find an arcade pro card on a japanese site for like 35 dollars. I figured this was a good deal and I can always e bay it if it turns out I don't need it or can't use it. Is that a good deal?? It might be like 40 with shipping. I'll hopefully just get my tg16 modded with the region switch from the www.multimods.com site. For now until I can afford a good deal on a dou-r or duo rx. The multimods site has some sick systems too but I just can't drop that much money on it right now. But I'm also trying to get a supersystem 3.0 card. Before I e bay for games I think I'll hit the streets..Hard. Just go to like everyplace in and around the area that seems like they might have something. I mean this stuff is way inflated in terms of prices for games but I think that the following for it is still somewhat small compared to other systems. So maybe if I am lucky I can get to some spots that haven't already been raided by other NEC searchers. I know it is a battle I should have waged sooner but with a little luck and faith I think It'll be ok. I just gotta regulate my spending so I don't go crazy. Thats why I'm waiting for the duo..The mod stuff should still be under like 150 total (I hope) which will leave some dough for game hunting....anyways thanks for reading lemme know whats up   thanks

Good call if you get your TG16 modded  You can all ways sell it later on and then get a Duo-R or RX model  I have a Duo-R too just like every body says here it is the.. best model out there.

I'm surprised I haven't checked for a Arcade Card Pro there before. Oh well, thanks for informing me.

I you want to get the most out of Turbo Gaming today without spending but loads of cash,  Keep the TurboGrafx you got for Chip games, and just go to - http://www.magicengine.com  and purchase the Magic Engine for a mere $15 US for ANY CD, SCD and ACD games!!

Its so easy, and by far the best way to go.  Why hasn't anyone else mentioned this to you??  I dont know.

I have a DUo and I just hit the 100 game mark.... (hooray for me!!) and my Duo lost its sound, and freezes up constantly.  I started to look for DUO RX's online and other options, I decided to try the Magic Engine just for the hell of it, and WOW!!  Its WORKS exactly like a DUO, but actually better.  At least better than my faulty one...:)

I noticed this most in games like 3X3 Eyes, when the loading times are like a 10th of what they were in terms of lenth on my DUO.

And there are ROMS out there too,  I don't know how many guys feel about emulation, but its the best way to preserve our collections without buying a new DUO every few years.

PS:  This DUO that recently starting acting shitty is already my 2nd one too!!

TurboSage out!

Yea I can't believe I found one there either. Mother gunner hooked my up with the link. Do you know if a super system 3.o card will always work on a Turbo grafx 16?? I thought it was a north american release. I found one on e bay that says you need a converter to use it in an american system. But isn't that weird because I thought that all pc-duos had them built in already? But ohhhh man this freaking turbo grafx has totally possessed me..I could barely afford that arcade card but I just had to get it. I swear dude I keep having dreams about finding a massive amount of games..Its soo crazy. But yea i'll try to get the link for that e bay thing....
thanks

Familiarize yourself with this guide:
http://pcenginefx.com/main/pcenginefx_com_-_nec_console_g.html
it doesn't have the full version numbers for each card, but it is very handy nonetheless

System Card 3.00 was released in Japan for folks who had the old suitcase PC-Engine CD (equivalent of TurboGrafx-CD).

System Card 3.01 was released in North America... it's harder to come by and generally more expensive than its Japanese counterpart.

Yea that compatability guide is awesome. I read it like ten times and I keep missing something each time. I didn't notice anything about a super system 3.01 card. I guess its just a typo?? Hopefully I'll be able to get my tg-16 modded at www.multimods.com and just use the arcade pro. But In the event that I can't do that right away because of money or something I would like to get an american super system 3.0 (or 3.01??) card so i can at least buy cd games from anywhere. There's a few of em now on ebay but I think the only american one is probably gonna get jacked up to like 100 bucks. Thats almost as much as getting the whole mod deal...I dunno for now I'm just holding out and having massive NEC fever. I swear man for like days now I've been having crazy ass tg-16 dreams...I mean I liked it when I bought back in the day..But nothing like this man. Hooked like an addiction. I'm still in school so the next two weeks is gonna be crazy but after that I'm going on the mega mission for games....Oh yea one more Question...You can get converters to be able to use Duo controllers on a tg-16 right?? I think someone told me this already but I'm not sure....Thanks ya'll...I thought I was the only one with those dreams..haha

Yes you can have someone like D-lite make a converter cable for you.  Or you can do what I did.  I got a duo tap and a turbo tap.

Took the lead in cables and switched them.  Now you have to destroy the big blocky plug on the turbo tap in order to extract the tiny cables.  I was able to do that by cutting away at it with a gerber or leatherman.  You then take the smaller duo tap plug and CAREFULLY pull out every cable.   Just pull and hold the little retainer bridge and it comes out easily without having to destroy it.  You will need it in a min. Remember what order you have them in, they are color coded so it wont be a problem.  Then attached the little cables from the turbo tap into the small plastic plug.  Then connect it.  You now have a reverse duo tap.   Meaning you can use duo controllers (like the six button one) on your turbo grafx 16.

You are gonna be left with a duo cable and a turbo tap body.  You can still plug in the cables themselves on those, even without the big plug.

Then you can use tg16 controllers on a duo.  You can probably keep it or sell it.

If now, im sure D will make you a converter cable.
