Hi

Can anybody help me with this game. I have difficulties beating the "stone" boss of level 5. I read that you need to hit his umm... balls, but whenever he jumps up and I get the occassion to "get between his legs", I somehow get crushed and loose a life.

Any special tactic to beat him? What weapon should I choose?

Edit: I'm aware of the level skip cheat, but don't want to use it.

I finished this game a while ago and can't remember exactly what i had to do but you have to be in one of the forms available and perform a special attack at the same time it drops on you.
You have to be just between it's legs to perform the attack as he lands.

The only special attack I could think of is the shield, which I tried but didn't succeed.

Whenever the boss jump up, and out of the screen, I position myself where he was. The problem is that when he falls down again, he slightly moved to the left or right, so it's pure luck being placed correctly or get crushed.

And since I'm writing this, up till now I always got crushed :|

Yes, you have to slightly move with the boss the direction he's going to and you got to have a bit of luck to.
Make sure you have plenty of life left before the encounter, things should be better after a few tries.

I'm still trying to beat this boss. I just can't find any working tactic. I still get crushed because it's impossible to know where the boss will land, or I get run over because the constant switching between the flying special attack and the shield one is time consuming.

I could post a Magic-Engine savestate for anybody who wants to try it out.

Edit: Oh heh... got it. You have to use the sword, it's still pure luck about guessing his actions, but you'll defeat him faster.

I used savestates again, but the next level and boss were much easier than the other one.

Save states..... that was the ONLY way i was ever gonna play this game again. I used to own it originally back in '92, but it was so hard and frustrating that i wanted to kill someone. I did beat it though. I have the ending saved on my hard drive. Battle Ace i have saved as well.
