Video Game Obsession box art scans
« on: May 06, 2012, 03:16:39 PM »
I found this site tonight -- perhaps it's well known -- which has excellent scans of many different games' box arts:

http://www.videogameobsession.com/videogame/index.htm

I point it out because I've been to a lot of sites over the years that have *decent* scans and photos, but not great ones. These really capture the colors well, get deep blacks, look sharp and are large size to boot. He doesn't do all games, just some of the ones he likes (I think).

Thanks man. I really appreciate it. :)

As much as I would like to have scans for every game, my website is a one person gig, meaning that every box scan on my website was personally scanned and
edited by me (over the last 16 years).

If I were to allow people to add scans to a PHP database or something along those lines there would be a lot more pictures, but then you'd have a lot of
mixed results and sub par scans. (not that all of mine are great, but they've gotten better over the years). I will sometimes spend an hour on a single
scan while editing it.

Also, my website is and has always been my personal video game collection.
Everything you see on it (aside from the pictures in the "Items I have sold" page is currently in my home.)

Thanks again Stalepie.
I'm glad you like 'em!

The Metal Slug 3 scan is pretty awesome.

I'd love to have scans of the spine and back of AES games, so I could make nice MVS covers for my games.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).
