Musha will always be king for me. Amazing soundtrack, graphics, weapons, gameplay, everything! I know some people disagree but to me it's the most visceral and fun shooter for the megadrive.

it sure is on the very tops of MD shooting, no doubts. thanks to had toaplan on board.

It's also interesting that Sagaia on the Genesis/MD is nearly identical to the same game on the Master System. I think this gives a clue as to why the Genesis/MD version has such underwhelming graphics... not that this is an excuse. It looks like a straight port of the Master System version with a few extra colors on your shield power up, and some different enemy patterns.

The Genesis version may look more like the amazing SMS version than the PCE and arcade versions, but it is still a big step up from the SMS game.

Yeah that is a pretty glaring omission although there are some other missing Mega CD shooters.

Great list.  I've only played a fraction of them.

I didn't see Steel Empire on there.  It's a rather generic shoot 'em up, but stylistically it's pretty cool.  It has a steampunk feel from before the term "steampunk" was coined.  The environment alone makes it pretty snazzy in my book.  It's also pretty easy, which is another plus in my book.  :)

Steel Empire alone is worth buying a Genesis for.

I have to go with the blimp.  :D It's just the absurdity of taking on an evil empire single-handedly in a freakin' zepplin!  Gotta love it.

The missiles that the zepplin uses I think are pretty cool as well.

I need to get to playing some of these games.  I have literally played about 20% of the list.  Thanks for posting.
