need help with duo laser setup

hello all i have just got around to re-capping my mates duo after about 10 years ago the cd drive stopped spinning its had a full re-cap and i have got the cd drive spinning again but i cant get it to read CD's so need a bit of help adjusting the 5 pots.

i have got it to spin and try reading cd's but all i get is that scratchie trying to read sound i have tried originals, cdr and music cds's so any help on adjusting these pots or tips on how to get it working would be much appreciated.

its Japanese duo by the way.

US and JP black duo are the same.
duo-r has things arranged a bit different.

yea been looking at that got the pots adjusted to the values stated still no joy. maybe be i should have a go doing it by ear as in the guide

i followed that guide and have got it running sweet but what ever i do it wont read games or cds it try's then stops and says cant read data .

i am suspecting the laser needs replacing.

the dou has got a few issuses someone has done a rgb mod without the amp so its pretty dark gonna have to sort that out for him as well.

do the cal with an audio cd
once the sound is clear (no distortion) it will read games

i have tryed with a audio cd wont read anything at all.

give it another go later.

given it another ago the drive is running sweet cant get it to read anything at all so looks like its gonna need a new laser.

wouldn't happen to know the best place to get one.

I havent bought a HOP-M3 laser in quite a while so Im not sure who's still selling them.

thats what i need yea ?.

if so will pick one up pay day just out of interest does anyone make and sell rgb amps for the rgb mod could do with 2 prob will have to make my own.

Just got and replaced the cd drive with a bit of patience and the help from the guide that blueraven did i got it up and working happy days.
