Sound Fix doesn't seem to work for problem #1...

Just did the Sound Fix that D-Lite proposed...while the sound problem hasn't gotten any worse, it hasn't seemed to have gotten any better, either.  I've replaced the 2 sound output capacitors and one of the input capacitors...I guess I'll just have to replace the other one and see if it works.  But in case it doesn't....are there any other known reasons for the CD sound crapping out on Duos?

Yeah, as noted in that original "sound fix" thread, the capacitor replacement doesn't seem to help with issue #1.  Still no cure that is reliable.

Damn, guess I'm out of luck as well.  I guess I'll start looking for a Japanese alternative.  The Duo-R and Duo-RX don't get these sound problems, right?  And you're able to do the S-Video and other mods on them as well, right?  (I noticed your post about the kits, but since I don't have a workspace in my apartment I'm willing to pay extra if it's costing you extra.)
