Yea I remember just being in shock/mad.  I wasn't thinking clearly till next day. Dunno if you've ever been broken into but it's pretty off putting. I'm pretty sure the police probably asked if I knew anyone who might've done it, but in all honesty I don't remember what I told them. All I recall is going to school the next day and when the dude was nowhere to be found it all added up.
