Pricing for Duo/TG-CD opinions?
« on: March 09, 2006, 12:18:24 PM »
So I'm new to this forum, but not to the Turbo/PCE world. First I'd like to say thank you to the members of this community for doing a big part to keep the NEC systems alive! Secondly I was wondering, how can these E-Bay company's like BullsEye Collectibles charge such exhorbitant prices for their Turbo/PCE gear? Some of it is understandable I suppose, but even though the power supply I need for my TG-CD is worth $35. I know it doesn't cost $25 to SHIP!!!
I'm sorry for the rant here, but are these price-hikes really justified? Especially since they also do things like sell you a system and then charge EXTRA for a power supply? Or one controller? Seems kinda shady. Just my .02

None of us can't doing anything to bring down Bullseye. I've heard way too many horror stories about people buying stuff from him and recieving piles of shit in the mail. Just avoid him like the plague at all costs.

I dislike people who add additional charges to items that is required for a system. Like the controllers and AC adaptors.

Japangamestock does this and it irritates me. They're selling top loader Famicoms for $50 but if you want the controllers, video cable, and AC adaptor you have to pay extra. You end up paying $100, and that doesn't include the EMS shipping costs.

$25 to ship an AC adaptor is a ripoff. Unless that seller is overseas and sending it EMS, it doesn't cost that much. The AC adaptor should cost you no more than $12 in used condition.

Have you also tried contacting the people at http://www.tzd.com ? They might have some.

They apparently don't carry them anymore :(
I also tried contacting NEC and they basically said good luck finding something suitable because they regrettably don't support the Turbo systems anymore. So...the hunt continues.
If you or anyone have other options for me let me know, since so far BullsEye ( Eck! ) seems like about it.
