PROF: I have a disc or two with a DEEP nick (Red Book, music skips/stops when playing, even in various CD players). Is JFJ Easy Pro ever going to help with a deep nick? What do you recommend?

Thanks in advance...

I couldn't really say. The only thing you can do is try. If nothing else it may be able to reduce the nick's size, fixing playback. I don't really suggest buying a unit for 1 or 2 disc though. This thing is more of a long term investment for planning on doing 50 disc on up,etc.

edit:

Here are two more disc I did tonite. I decided to run a heavily scratched up cd-r though the process to see how the plastic on cd-rs handle it, and the other disc is MK3 for pc. Sorry I could not get good shots of all the scratches, but as you can see the MK3 has a pretty thick/wide scratch near the center of the disc and also at the end. It is more obvious in the close up. The CD-R also had a lot of scratches and small scuffs all over it. I just could not get good shots of all the damage. Anyway, took two pics of them before and after the process for you to view. (Sorry I did not bother to go after all the dust bits in the after pics, the anti static spray is only so effective and my air can ran out.)

BEFORE:

AFTER:

As you can see the damage is basically gone now on both disc.
