WTB - Turbo Duo
« on: June 08, 2013, 03:13:09 PM »
Hey There

I'm sure nobody is going to sell one but it doesn't hurt to try to get one. Like the title says I'm looking to get my hands on a Turbo Duo. It doesn't matter what one I'd buy either the regular or the R. I'm looking to spend around $150 for it and I live in the United States.

It needs a cap replacement, the same as any regular Turbo or PCE Duo does that has not had one done yet.

Not a bad price.  Pay the extra for EMS shipping.
I'm busy playing pinball, but I still drop by to visit.

I don't know how to replace the caps. Are they easy to replace?

Depends if you are handy with soldering.  There are a lot of them that need to be removed and replaced with new capacitors.  If you need there are members here that can do it for you at a pretty decent price,  this is how I got my done as I do not have the tools or skill level to do it myself.

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

Normally only the black/grey TurboDuo and PCE Duo require a cap replacement. A Duo R/RX is a safer bet, but you'll eventually need to replace the laser lens at some point with any model. The lens replacement can be done by anyone.
