HI

Have a turboexpress that lost the ability to lighten the screen
only sound,
even after a cap replacement

wanting to install a new screen

tried this on a nomad with success

but saw there are power problems on the TE

is there any advancement on the subject now? :D

Not just power problem, some of these LCDs won't work with the TE's resolution. Also hope you know that the TE LCD mod is not as easy as the nomad right? It envolves adding some discrete and passive components and rewiring to the graphic chip.
