I enjoyed watching the Pride fights back in the day and have a lot of the 5-disc dvd collections they sold before they realized they could sell each feature for the same price individually.  lol!  UFC was a lot better back before Dana White took over.  These were the days when the only rules were no eye gouging or biting and you would see fighters from all disciplines from all over the world fight each other.  Nowadays all the fighters fight with the same style and wear the same gloves.  It was fun to watch about seven years ago, but now its just boring.

I also think some, if not all, the headline UFC fights are fixed.  Look how Wanderli Silva fought so ferociously while in in Pride.  Then look at his first fight in the UFC against Chuck Liddel.  The fight didn't even go to the mat at all and Silva looks scared.  Then add in the way Silva talked to Dana White after he lost.  He kept calling White "Boss" and kept saying "If you're happy, I'm happy".

The whole MMA sport is getting long in the tooth.

no.  I've tried watching that stuff so many times. It's boring as hell to watch.

I'd rather watch fighting where the dudes don't look all sloppy.  They almost always end up standing flat footed, facing each other, and then end up grappling around on the ground like they're trying to pound each other in the ass.

You get guys that show up and the announcer is like "He's trained in Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do, and Tae Kwon Do!  He's a real fighting expert!"

and then 15 seconds into the fight, hes on his back with his knees to the sky, throwing sissy slaps to the other guys head, trying to stand back up.

You mean the show with the two dudes in nothing but bike shorts dry hump each other?

Well PRIDE was the best. UFC is so stale in comparison. No head stomps or knees to downed opponents. I discovered an N64 game that features at least 33 MMA fighters (Bass Rutten , Enson Inoue, Mark Kerr) legends, since the game came out in 2001. I am having a great time with this game, had  save file that all names are english. It keeps your fight record too. Cool

here are two created UFC fighters

Rampage vs. Lyoto Machida

These were the days when the only rules were no eye gouging or biting and you would see fighters from all disciplines from all over the world fight each other.

That's the evolution of the sport for ya. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu took off all over the world because of these series too, the Gracie family is probably LOADED with $$$ because of it. Anyway, I tend to agree bitd it was more "bloodsport," than anything we have now. So it did make it more exciting. However the fighters out there now are truly something to be amazed by.

I was rather let down by Silva's losing fight, that was lame. I haven't kept up with the sport much. For me, the height was Bas Rutten in his Pride days.

That Lyoto guy was pretty cool to watch.   I remember watching him kick someone in the head, and they collapsed like a sack of bricks.

I watch WWE regularly and I enjoy a good boxing match.  UFC is not enjoyable though, doesn't have the drama of wrestling or the finess of boxing.

I would have to disagree on the finness of boxing. Now I love a boxing fight as much as the next fan, but I have to give props to awesome grappling fights.

Man this game is TOUGH. Its just like real MMA unpredictable. People go on winning and losing streaks. I found the perfect round time and round amount to make any match KO ,  Sub or Dec. possible depending on the quality of the fight

My personal character on VERY HARD record 11-5 6submissions 4KOs 1 Decision

MAN! my record now is 13-6 . This game has 'random rpg stats' in the background so you can get caught with a miracle early submission or KO just like in the old PRIDE FC mma days.
