Well I received the RGB to SCART socket this morning and its still the same!  :(

Looks like a mod might be in order after my forthcoming holiday!

Indeed. A Sony Trinitron/Wega is a good bet. Cheap and you get a great TV for the price.

yea I'd go for a new TV.

Panasonic, JVC, phillips, Toshiba are also very good brands...

Even if you go for a scart conversion there's is still a chance that you could still get a B&W image..  and it could be that the Bush TV really can't accept NTSC signals.

True. The inlaws have a Bush TV. 28" widescreen and that won't run my PS2 in 60Hz mode.

As a general rule, anything over 21" and by one of the big name brands will accept RGB through the first Scart socket.

New TV or not -- the PCE outputs a horrible picture -- you MUST have RGB!  :P

Hi Lee!

Good to see that you took the plunge and entered NEC-land. I'll be interested in how you get on with your mod if that's what you end up doing, as I'm looking to get a PC Engine of some description myself. And it's true what someone said earlier about Raven Games, they are pretty expensive.

Good luck   :)
