wtt SNATCHER SEGA CD or SS PDS for: a tg-16 cd setup
« on: January 12, 2014, 01:04:07 PM »
hey guys,
new member here and glad to finally be on here!
i have owned multiple tg-16 units and 2 PCE duos throughout my years collecting, and have always ended up ditching them for fear of how unreliable the hardware can be. that ends now, as i have come across another tg-16 and plan to go all out modding it and bringing it into the modern age since i now have the expensive tools necessary to feel safe soldering it all up! this will be my permanent system for my collection, and damn do i miss my copies of lords and gate of thunder, and bloody and crest of wolf.
like i said i want to go all out on this console, so here are the things i am looking for, they dont necessarily need to be for trade, a lot of the parts and components i am willing to pay out right for:
"obey" region chip
rgb mod chip (otherwise i will build my own circuit, had just seen some prebuilt available but sold out)
a metal or sturdy plastic cd gear
a new laser lens
a cap kit for a tg-16 (otherwise i will source caps individually)
a turbo dock
a turbo cd drive
a system 3.0 or arcade card (region does not matter if i can get ahold of a obey chip)

i already have the console, and a turbo tap that is rewired to route JP controllers for use with a US tg-16 so if i can track all of this down i will be good to go with my franken-turbo!

for offer as far as trade towards the turbo dock and cd player i have a near mint to mint copy of Snatcher for sega cd
also *possibly* a complete near mint/mint copy of PDS for sega saturn

sorry for the long winded post. and for anyone wondering, i do plan to stick around, have considered joining this forum for years and am glad to now be a part of it. i have been a member of neo-geo.com for 10 years now, with many pages of feedback to vouch for myself as a buyer/trader/seller. also, Munchiaz and jibbajabba (not sure of there names here) will also vouch for me.
lets get this project rolling!
thanks guys!

If you get any interest in this, just be aware since you are totally new here you will probably be expected to ship first.

Didn't I meet you at a MAGFest a few years ago? You had a Versus for sale...

Welcome! good luck in your PCE search.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

Welcome aboard and good luck getting a Turbo CD; alternatively, get a PCE Duo and probably save some monies.

P.S.  -  Per the forum rules, "jap" is unacceptable.  Use JP, PCE, or type it in full.

yea i am not completely opposed to getting a PCE duo, just was kind of more interested in the turbo CD rig more than anything because of it being more difficult.. im looking at it as a challenge kind of.
also, edited first post to JP. thanks!

Grats.

I would have thought of it as I have an unused Turbo CD rig right now, 2.0 only, but I already have PDS and Snatcher. Heh. Nice trade though.

Shipping must have been crazy or did the buyer move out after picking it up? I've still got my two head-to-heads plus 8 other candy...the quest never ends...must ..get...more!

gg on the CDROM pick up! I hope you obey well.

i think it ended up being about $600 to ship yea!
only cab i still have is a konami windy and with the way prices have been going up on candy cabs i think ill be holding on to this one forever. too expensive to regret selling it off later down the road.

...But I'll give it a good home! You can visit it every year at MAGFest :)

But good to know that ppl are willing to drop that kind of money on a Versus...I'm brewing a scheme to sell Versus on the EC [diabolical laughter]
