This happened to me, when I took apart my SuperCDROM2 unit. The spindle unit had fallen (maybe 1 foot off the ground), and landed up-side down. It pushed it in. I didn't realize it until I had it all back together. I just took it back apart (recently) and used a small flat blade screw driver to apply pressure - upwards on it. But I did this at the base of the motor and plastic piece on the metal shaft. It took a lot of pressure, so I wasn't able to move it upwards in small enough increments. So instead, I slowly tapped it back down to where I thought it should be. System works fine now (plays CD-Rs like a champ).
