surugaya-a-too not selling outside of Japan anymore?

Just noticed they are no longer showing up in any results for general searches on Rakuten Global. Something happen?

Never mind, seems there was a issue with a setting on their search method. Evidently they added new options for "shipping country" which was not there last time.

All rakuten sellers will ship abroad.  Rakuten requires this for membership.

Yeah thats what I thought, so I thought maybe they were no longer on Rakuten when they were not coming up in search results. Like I said, after fiddling around I found the option to search by "Shipping Country". Its located in the lower left hand corner at the bottom of the page after you try a general search. It wasn't there the last time I was on the site, but it has been a few months so meh on that. Setting it to Japan fixed the problem.

It actually says "Japan or use forwarding service".

Is it really true that Rakuten requires that sellers ship out of Japan?  It sounds like that that setting is only for shipping within Japan.

Rakuten Global is what it says, global sales of goods. Sellers on there are supposed to be shipping outside of Japan. Surugaya is supposedly dealing with some issues, don't know what they are, but I read some post made by people last December stating Surugaya canned their orders and said they were not able to ship outside of Japan for the unforeseen future. A member on this forum messaged me with a similar problem, and I advised him to contact Rakuten CS and inquire about it. Also to note, seems they have another store front on there now called "surugaya-a-too-plus".

I sent them an email.  Their reply:

Thank you very much for your mail.

We are very sorry to inform that Surugaya-A-Too stopped acceptation of
overseas

orders in these days. We would like you to wait for a time being.

The date that we resume our service is still uncertain.

We would like to resume it as soon as possible.

Second, "Surugaya-A-Too" and "Surugaya-A-Too-Plus" the same store.

However, "Surugaya-A-Too-Plus" only for domestic customers in Japan.

Hope you understand the situation.

I don't think stores there are actually required to ship outside of Japan, but there is a forwarding service that you can use with stores that only ship to Japan (but the extra cost will eat up anything you saved by buying items from Japan)

About this, I bought some LDs from them after christmas and I had the same problem: Surugaya's products were not listed in the search. I could find their store but not browse it.

However, I managed to actually order through a work around.
If I viewed their store on Japanese Rakuten (by changing my language in the top right menu), which I tend to do sometimes anyway because babelfish english,  things I've looked at would show up under "recently viewed" on the Rakuten international main page.

And thus I was able to add things to my cart and check out. Just thought it was a listing error, not that they stopped :/  They didn't tell me that in their mail contact with me during the purchasing process either.

And I got my things as well.

Bummer though, they're pretty much my go-to store for LDs and other obscure crap.

Maybe they will eventually start taking orders again. Does not affect me right now either way since I have no need to order anything right now from them or anything.
