For Strategy RPG games I like the Luminous Ark series.

For a game that's fantastic fun and makes good use of the DS play Elite Beat Agents

Plus all game ccovell mentioned

I much prefer Oso tatake Ouendan to Elite beat agents. I think the songs are better, and the scenarios for each song are better

EBA feels like an actual sequel.  It's got a slightly improved interface and better patterns on the higher difficulties.  I found that the songs grew on me quickly and that the scenarios were mostly ok, with a few being really, really good; exactly the same ratio as the Japanese one.  Unfortunately, I took too long a break between that and Ouendan 2 so I lost my mad skills.  I didn't put enough time into it to judge it.

My favorites are the little girl whose father died (I know it sounds mean but the failures are shockingly hilarious for the subject matter) and the "You bet, kid!" baseball guy.

Kirby Super Star Ultra is a great remake of the Super NES original. It's probably one of my favorite remakes of all time. It has enhanced graphics & adds a few more games to the mix.

The only downside is that you need two copies of the game to play most of the games in co-op.
