What's wrong with waiting 30 years to make a sequel?

Top Gun is basically Cho Aniki Flight Academy movie if you think about it excluding the dogfighting scenes with cool 90's soundtrack. No I don't want another Top Gun.

Why do I suddenly want to play  Falcon on my TurboExpress in "dogfight" mode with another person on his/her TE?

I haven't seen it since I was a kid and any homosexual undertones went right over my head.  "WOW! JETS!" I believe was the entirety of my thoughts process behind the film.  That bit at the end of the Honest Trailer about starting WW3 though, .

I figure most people at some time or other played Top Gun on the NES, the game was pretty mediocre imo.  The sequel though?  Top Gun 2 had (for the time) a really cool split screen versus dogfight mode.  My friends and I played it a bunch a long time ago.
Current want list:  Bomberman 93

Seeing as how the remarkably badassed F-14 Tomcat has been retired (), that only leaves the Hornet as the only USN aircraft to fill the role. As great as the F-18 is, it just doesn't exude the sexiness and power like the 'Cat' did.

Furthermore, the nimble A-4 Skyhawk is also retired. The 'Hawk' played the role of nemesis for training F-14 pilots. What aircraft takes it's role?

I'm interested to see what aircraft take to the screen if this ever gets off the ground.

My past-life would've surely led to our demise, and I had left it not a moment too soon. Our escape, though dangerous, had gone well. The train ride, sunlight, and passing snow-covered pine trees came together in a flickering show of our bright, new future together. Her head rested on my shoulder as she soundly slept to the gentle rocking of the passenger car. We felt freedom. We felt peace.

There was never a good Top Gun game, and there will never be a good Top Gun sequel. I recently watched this again. Say what you want about Kenny Loggins, but Danger Zone is just such an awesome song. Maybe it's the way it perfectly suits the movie (and vice versa).
