Question about Turbo Duo controllers
« on: June 11, 2006, 11:36:24 AM »
Hi, I'm new to the PC Engine FX boards (but not to PC Engine gaming, owned one since 1998). I was wondering something about Turbo Duo/PC Engine controllers. Somebody mentioned somewhere that duo extention cords are actually Mac Keyboard cables? Is that true? If so I can just go downtown to get one off some computer store, rather than order them online. Also, I remember seeing a site that a guy modded a NES controller to work on a Turbo Duo, has anyone ever seen that before? I had it bookmarked once but can't seem to find it now :?

Was that site you were referring to in regards of the NES controller the same site that shows you how to install a region mod on your Turbo systems? I don't know the link off hand, but if we're talking about the same site, I could find it for you. I'm not sure if that's what the site I am referring to did, but maybe.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

I dont own a mac, but it makes perfect sense that something other things share the same din plug. I Would just throw the controller in your pocket and take it with you to make sure.  I personally just ordered one from www.tzd.com since i was buying a copy of Lords of Thunder anyway. Ten extra bucks on the order is a decent price for a 6 foot cable.

I'm not sure, but I remember that the guy doing the mod used one of those extention cords to replace the original NES cord. As for TZD, I'm not sure I can use it since I'm in Canada and their international shipping is about 31 dollars when I go to checkout. I also wanted to get a spare Dungeon Master: Theron's Quest manual since the one I have is worn. I also seen midwest-games.com has a bunch for sale, as well as some other turbo stuff like av cables and that PS2 controller adaptor. I'll try with the computer store first though,  if it doesnt work then I'll order one off midwest-games.
