Anyone in Montreal to fix my turboduo?
« on: February 11, 2015, 03:07:16 PM »
Hi everyone, im new here! I own my turbo duo since 99, but never played it because its not working properly. My av port is hit and miss to display image, I have to play with the cable before i get the picture on my tv, and my controller II button is not working, I opened the controller and it looks fine so I suspect the controller port to be the problem. Are these commmon issues with the duo? So if theres someone near montreal who could fix it or get a look at it, please PM me, so I can finally play my turbo duo! I would also like a RGB mod so I can play on my sony pvm with a scart cable!

I picked up a master system that needed the solder joints for the controller port to be reflowed. Some buttons wouldn't work until I did that. It sounds like you need to change the av jack too.

Yarr, it's pretty common to need the av and controller ports reflowed; the torque from inserting and removing cables (and just their weight) tends to crack the joints over time.  There are several guys here that do repairs (chops, steve, blueraven, bmw, turbokon, keith, etc.), but all the ones I know of are in the US.

Its not to hard to reflow the solder joints yourself.

All you do is touch each pin for the port with a soldering iron. You can add a small amount of new solder.
