Well i dont use it every day, but my GT (actually Turbo Express region modded) get a solid few hours use every week. With a decent set of Ni-MH batteries, the battery life is actually decent enough to last a long while.

One day back in 1999 I went to work and surprisingly a guy was watching TV on a Turbo Express in his cubical. He was using the AC adaptor obviously since much like the PSP, is hard for the batteries to last through a whole movie on the TE. I told him I was very interested in owning it, and he gladly accepted the $60 I gave him for it. He probably went to Best Buy and bought a much better TV with that $60.

I kept the thing around for a couple of years until I realized that I was obviously never going to get any real play out of it. I sold it to a Brit for $100 or something like that. We both came out ahead.

Its really amazing, but not very usefull. I play the GBA, NGP, and even the Swan Crystal much more than I ever played the Express. The GT has terrible battery life, a puny screen, and its a huge huge machine. To its credit, its very comfortable.

Lately I've become much more interested in the PCEs HuCard library, so maybe if I still had it I'd play it more, but that's OK. I have lots of handhelds.

Back in the day, the TE was very useful because I did not have an extra TV, so if someone was watching a movie or television show, I could still play a game.

When I got into all the Japanese HuCard library, I picked up a GT because I got it really, really cheap. Well, I've logged more hours on that than I can count. Handhelds are just incredibly convenient: I could be in any room in the house, in the backyard (we have a huge magnolia tree with tons of shade), in the garage, etc. I usually use an AC adapter.

These days, I'm so busy that I hardly play video games (a handful of hours every two weeks). About half that time is on TE / GT. Why? Well my daughter would destroy any consoles if they were left out. All my consoles are in the closet.

The original Gameboy, Lynx (1st model) and Game Gear and Nomad are all huge by today's standards, but they're stilll excellent. They're just not nearly as "portable" as we'd like them to be.

I play mine a ton, almost every day. Enough that I keep a NiMH quick charger next to the couch so I can recharge one set of batteries while I'm using the other set. Of course, that's probably because I JUST got the thing a few weeks ago. Oddly, I play in the same room that has the Duo hooked up, but I like the convenience of the handheld more. It's worth noting that my handheld systems get played a lot more than my home systems ever do.

Yeah, i play handhelds more that consoles these days. I REALLY love hucards (as i'm sure most of us here do

), and its great being able to play my favorites on the couch or in bed, or the million other places. I actually like the big size of it, since it fits in my hands so well. Its comfortable to play for an hour or two, unlike most of my other handhelds.

For a while, like 6 months to a year or something, I only played my TE since the RF out on my TG-16 was broken.

For a long time, I had to use batteries until Radio Shack finally brought out their own brand TE AC adapter. It was okay though, since there was a discount store in town at the time selling all of the old stock of the bankrupted toy store and they had name brand AA's dirt cheap.

I got Bonk's Revenge during this period and still remember my impression of the game as a handheld only experience. It was so weird when I finally got to try it on my refurbished TG-16 with a "real" TV.

Hey, you know that's pretty kool. Since there are many PCE HuCards I have yet to play, I might try playing some of them exclusively on the handheld for a while... then I switch to a proper TV. I think it would be trippy, like you said.

Some games dont play so hot on the portable due to the resolution, but most are fine. I plan on replacing the LCD in mine with a newer unit, but i have been having problems figuring out how to get composite video from the Hu6260. Im still trying to trace the components on my other systems, but im still learning.
