Serious review of a flashlight.

At one point, you'll notice that the surface temperature generated at various points on the flashlight are measured.

The flashlight has built-in cooling fans.

Be sure to read the entire review (just kidding, I looked at the images mostly).

Why do I want that flashlight now?

also, I love how he tests the light by shining it into the windows of the building adjacent to him. I bet he has caused more than one UFO report.

This! So funny sure they were thinkning either alien or police helicopter haha

I know! The longer I stayed on the page, the more I wanted to get the damn flashlight!

I want a flashlight with cooling fans.

That is one serious flashlight!

I was interested in getting one too, until I saw how much they go for:

He did not say if the flashlight can be mounted and resist the consistent recoil of a rifle.  (Up to .50 caliber Beowulf).

I bought many flashlights in my lifetime and I'll likely get suckered into many more purchases in the future... :/ This one does look sexy, I'll say that, but to spend $329 on a flashlight is bat-shit crazy!

Key things you should look for: LED bulbs and a Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery built-in (USB recharge style preferably). Don't waste your time if it takes regular batteries, just not worth the hassle anymore. Usually the on/off buttons wear out for me or the battery compartment was not designed well, so you get weakened or no juice till you mess with the springs and contact points. Last flashlight I bought I modded it by soldering a Lithium-Ion battery to it from a retired cellphone. Works like it should, no more bullshit. When I need to recharge it, I bring it by the cellphone body which is plugged in, open the compartment and put the battery back in the phone for a normal recharge!

Sometimes stores have shitty Pay-Go cellphones on sale for $5 bucks, that's with power supply, cell and 3.7 - 4.1 Volt battery. That deal is worth it for the battery! I did the same thing to my cordless mouse. The triple AAA batteries it relied on sucked ballz in terms of drain so I soldered in a cellphone battery and keep the body to recharge it. Lasts a hell of a lot longer now and recharges quickly!

I guess if I dropped $300 on a f*cking flashlight, I'd take 50 glamour shots of it and write up a review that read like a review of a Swiss watch in an attempt to justify the purchase to myself, too.

I'll just stick to Mag-Lites.

those guys on the candle power forums take their flashlights seriously.  I have worked with a couple of flashlight enthusiasts like this.

Any glamor shots to share? :D

Of a Mag-Lite?

No, but I could take some. May contain nipples, though.

+1 For Mag Lites. Being able to be used as a formidable weapon is always a plus.
