Hu-Card Travel Case
« on: April 13, 2016, 10:54:14 AM »
Recently picked up a Turbo Express and was trying to come up with some kind of travel case for Hu Cards. I found a few credit card/business card cases i thought might work but was wondering if anyone has ever used something like that for Hu Cards? Or if anyone has a better suggestion for a case or safe way to store their Hu-Cards when they are on the go? Or maybe if there would be any problems using something like this for Hu Cards, like stactic issues or whatever.

Heres a few of the cases i found, i think i like the first one best because its a little smaller but could still hold 26 cards. Im curious if it could actually hold 26 Hu Cards with out being too fat or if the hu cards would even properly fit. I guess for less than $10 i could try it.

not sure those would work well since hu cards are thicker than trading cards and credit cards.  Probably easiest way to carry all your games around with you is to get an everdrive.

These have ruined other people's games. There's at least one big thread about it.

I have been using 3 binders like this for a decade.

The composition of the vinyl/plastic determines whether or not it will degrade/stick to HuCARD.

ALSO, exposure to humidity/sunlight may also be a contributing factor.

I keep my hucards like this too =]
I got some A4 trading card holders from a comic shop, they are archival blah blah so won't damage the hueys & any old folder - cheap!

I like me some CICs but gotta say...hueys look nice like that too. I could see it being fun flipping through picking out something to play.

And at least there you have a picture to help you...my games are stored in a typical jewel case rack and the PC engine spines (in Japanese) all look alike to me. Which means pulling out 3-4 games each time until I find what I am looking for.

Be careful, archival generally means acid-free and such. Collectible cards generally don't have problem with static electricity, and soft plastic can get charged and zap electronics.   I can't recall what type are bad and what type are safe around electronics.

I bought these in the late 90's...I think the brand was "Day Runner" or "Day Planner" or something like that.

When I bought these, my wife was rocking a brand new PALM PILOT (she was an early adopter and owned several over the years).

So....wow. These have aged better than the Palm Pilots of yore.

Thanks for the ideas here. I have some monster binders I'll check for static electricity, as I think the 4 pocket page binders are a perfect size for storing hu-cards. If static is an issue I'll probably try using dryer sheets in the pockets by adhering them inside the pages.

I've used a 4 card per page bound ultipro collectible card binder for almost 2 years now, no climate control in san diego, and have had no issues with my loose hueys sticking to the pages. Was cheap and functions well. I've seen these with fake leather exterior that look nicer, mine is plastic exterior but looks nice on the shelf and functions well.
