Back to the actual OP question, I'd say that current prices are higher for sure, but it's still worth getting.
I know a lot of the older collectors were able to get this title for around $80 (Myself included) back in the day, but I doubt it will snap back anytime soon. Not with the current retro-game craziness going on anyway. I don't know if the game will hit Sylphia level crazyness in terms of price, but I can't see it getting cheaper. You just have to judge the quality of the game, the current price, and the likelihood of you getting it cheaper in the future.
I can tell you one thing, if you consider $100~$130 expensive, you better start moving! Bazaru de Gozaru, Dead of the Brain, and a host of other games have already blown passed this mark and are genuinely less common. It's all a matter of when you want to dig your feet in... like investing in stocks. You can get in with the early investors, or later. But the longer you wait, the less benefits you'll get.
PS: In my humble opinion, when you talk about $100-$130, that's still in the impulse-buy zone for me. Especially if your someone who works and has a full time job. It's only when you get into $200+ territory that I start to think about purchases in a much more critical way. Consider joining the club, while things are still (in the grand scheme of things) "affordable". :-D
