Tennokoe Bank battery replacement model?
« on: December 01, 2016, 02:55:59 AM »
Anyone have a model of a replacement battery confirmed to work as a replacement in the Tennokoe Bank card?
Or will any old 3v watch battery do?

I'm going to be getting one soon (second hand, obviously) and would like to give it a fresh battery before I put it into use.

The original is a CR2320.

So any old CR2320 should work, with the caveats about physically fitting it back together et?

Like AA or AAA, CR2320 is a specific battery size.  They're all the same size.

Great info, thanks.
I suspected as much but always like to double check these things before cracking stuff open.

The only thing ya might have to hunt for is one with solder tabs, as there's no socket.  You can solder lead wires on yourself, but then you run the risk of overheating and damaging the battery.

My friend and I replaced the battery on mine, but the website we got the info from was wrong on the battery model and I ended up with a batter that was too thick to have the cover put back on.  Soldering off the old one and on the new one was a little bit of a hassle just to give you a heads up.
