New Adventure Island Pudding Parfait Powerup

Does anyone know how to make this powerup appear? In all the times I've played this game I've only ever seen it appear once or twice and can't figure out what triggers it. I think it is like the watermelon where it will just fall onto the course after being triggered rather than being inside of an egg but the manual only tells you how to make the watermelon (collect the same fruit 5 times in a row) appear and not the parfait (Just says "Increases your energy up to 16 times. (No higher than the original level.)"). Really thought I would have figured this out by now...

I don't know this for sure and I can't check, but I want to say you have to be on the skateboard to get it

Your mention of the skateboard and my memory of the parfait once appearing in place of the watermelon I usually get on 6-3 had me hoping it was to just collect 5 of the same type of fruit in a row while on the skateboard but I played around with it and only ever got the watermelon. Actually managed to get 6 of the same in a row on the skateboard but only got the watermelon after the 5th. Hopefully someone knows, I think you're right about the skateboard though.

For some reason, killing the fox while you're on the skateboard just popped into my head.  I'm out of town and can't check it, but it's worth a shot

On 3-3 I usually kill both foxes while on the skateboard but don't think that I've ever gotten the parfait on that level, unfortunately.

Finally figured it out while taking crazydean's suggestion to use the fireballs to rack up as many points as possible! If you have the fireballs then this is something that might be in a hidden egg that would normally contain fireballs. You don't get it from every hidden egg though, some of them have 1-ups and others have a ring that gives you 4000 points if you have the fireballs already. Getting the parfait expands the lifebar and adds 2 new animations to the end of the level depending on how much of it you have left. Could have sworn that this just fell from the sky or appeared the few times I'd gotten it before so maybe there are other ways to trigger it or maybe I just don't remember right...

Had you not suggested the fireballs then we'd probably both be still wondering about it. Pretty cool to see another item that I'd never seen before and wasn't even looking for too!

I love this thread. I thought I was pretty good/knowledgeable about NAI, but I have learned stuff here. I usually don't pay attention to the items...

I certainly didn't know the True Meaning Of Parfait.
