Get a Mr clean magic eraser and go to town on that case. It will make it look 10x better. Try to use the whole sponge at once and swipe the casing going from right to left. If you go up and down the wipe marks will be more obvious later.

This does work so do it! Take it from someone who has done this on many DUOs with fantastic results.

Huh, I never considered that. I will give that a shot first, thank you

Just make sure you dont use the magic eraser on the "PC Engine DUO" lettering in the upper left. If you do it will remove the printing!

Keith knows his stuff! Id do that.

And Maybe....
After the magic eraser you might want to coat it with a warm blast of urine. Make sure you get all the sides and the bottom. The sterility of the urine on the plastic will create a protective coating like a car's clearcoat. Not to mention it will forever make it "Yours". If you run on empty during the first coat I heard cat urine also works. Repeat process as necessary.

All joking aside the MR Clean magic eraser is the way to go. You can also go over the lettering in the top but just only do it maybe two or 3 times so you don't rub it off. Someone would have to scrub really hard to make the lettering come off. I've never had the lettering start to come off and I've done this many times. So just wipe it down like you are using a rag to wipe off your kitchen table and all will be fine. You may have to put a little pressure into it but not much. Also make sure to wipe it from Side to side Not Up and down.

The whitish powdery looking parts on your DUO might require more aggressive scrubbing. I had one recently with the same look on hand that required some harder scrubbing to remove all the splotchyness. Obviously start light and see how it goes first. The key is to go all the way across the entire system so as to make everything look even when done. So don't scrub harder or longer in certain areas than others.

Wipe the system off with a damp rag afterwards since the Magic Eraser can sometimes leaves a whitish film behind.

No - not on this coloured plastic.. A heat gun (or hair dryer) may revive the colour, but I have never tried it on a console...
