Only Fools and Horses and Yes Minister. Can't really recall any genuinly funny US sitcoms from the 80s, Cheers is a nice series with a lot of charm but I don't think it is all that funny.
It's funny, but not the funniest. I actually rewatched Season 1 on Netflix not too long ago, and I quite did not like the end/beginning of season 2. I'll trudge through eventually to get to some of the better later seasons, but it was a chore to finish S1.

Want that on USA Network in the 80's? I remember watching it at my grandma's, and I also remember looking forward to Gilbert Godfried hosting a Friday/Saturday night movie.
