Hey guys,
I picked this one up (FINALLY) from TZD...luckily I have a friend who understands all the plays and was willing to play quarterback.
I ended up learning more about football in my two months playing this game than in my entire life leading up to it!

Anyway, onto my question:
Is there any surefire way to get a Touchback when playing against the computer? All the computer has to do is stand still in the end zone...the only times I've succeeded were when I happened to catch the ball in the end zone, and then do a *forward* dive, but even that didn't always work.

In summary, this game is a lot of fun, but you really have to MAKE it fun.

I also learned the rules of football while forcing myself to master this game. Once I got into it, it was actually fun(I did not expect to ever enjoy a football game).

Unfortunately, I haven't seriously played it in over ten years and can't offer any advice.

Love the game!!  And how about those Guy kazama quality FMV sequences with those goofs in the white helmets.

Truly a cool collectors item- I especially love the ending credits after you win the super bowl.  With the Hudson Soft building and stuff... That was a nice touch....

whenever I actually want to do a touch back as the receiver I just run sideways and dive..  I'm unsure if there is a fair catch button.   Maybe while the ball is in the air..   Or you could switch to the receiver and run away before the ball gets to you, then the ball would just roll out of the end zone....

I dunno really~  do you have the instructions?

We were talking about this game in another thread a while back.  This is actually a very innovative football game, and very fun!  And who doesn't love those FMVs of adolescent japanese kids in jv uniforms!    I think either of turbo sage's ideas would probably work for getting a touchback.

It would be sweet if someone hacked this game and made it more like a real nfl licensed game, i.e. replacing the fmvs with real nfl game footage and minor graphics tweaks.
