Afterburner on PcEngine is better then the Genesis port. Basically if you like Afterburner 1-2 you will like it alot.

Agreed. The Turbo/PCE Afterburner II thwomps the Megadrive/Genesis version.

It's probably the best version from the era, other than the arcade.

I think there might've been a 32X or Saturn version later that was arcade-perfect, but that's another story...

I think you'll be pleased with the PCE version of After Burner. :)

There is, Sega Ages for the Saturn plus Sega Gameworks for the DC.

Close ya as can get to the arcade of aftherburner on a console.

Still i've never bother to compare it to on mame so dunno.

Cool. I'll pick up afterburner as well. I do own the saturn version. lol. I actually enjoy playing ports of arcade games from that era. There is a certain charm about them. I enjoy seeing the effort put in by the programmers. Being that they are converting a massive arcade game to much simpler hardware. Sometimes the results were quite impressive. I loved that feeling when I was younger. "WOW! It looks like the arcade version!" Good times :)
