So you have to wait in line to get you mail too? Don't you have a mail box,or a front door step? I never have any of the problems you are complaining about, nor does my other friend who buys and sells on ebay.

Come to think of it,if I had to go pick up my packages because the post man wont drop them off I would be complaining to the Post Master General of your route that your mail man is  a lazy scum bucket.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

If you live in an apartment with a locked front door and no private porch the mail carrier is most likely to leave a note to pick up your package rather than leave it on the steps.  I used to live in a duplex in a shitty neighborhood and the door at the bottom of my stairs was usually locked.  More often than not, whatever package I was expecting would end up at the post office and I'd have to find time to pick it up.  It sucks.

Perhaps I ought to.

I do have a mailbox, but the mail man refuses to put anything larger than a regular-sized letter inside it. Except for the newspaper-style coupons and advertisements form the grocery stores. Get plenty of those. Anything else that looks like it has dimensions any different than a plain old letter he will try to hand deliver to me at my door. Since I work normal business hours M-F, I am not home 83% of the time he tries to do this. At this point he will leave me a note saying I can come pick it up at the post office. The other 17% of the time I get lucky and he tries to do it on a Saturday, when I actually AM home. The rare occasion that this happens I always try to speak with him about it and attempt to explain that it is a very big inconvenience to have to drive 20 minutes to the post office, wait in line 1 hour, and then drive 20 minutes home to pick up a package that was already at my house but just didn't get left for me. Setting time aside for a post office run is such a big committment sometimes days will go by before I can free up 2 hours out of my day to go get my stuff. This is complicated by the fact that if you let them hold your package too long they will send it back to the sender.

Unfortunately, my mail man is small asian man who either does not understand English very well or pretends not to. His response is typically a smile, nod, and then he walks away.

Ehh sounds like hes blowing you off and needs to do his job. Also, its a federal job so he should be able to speak english pretty well to get it,or engrish at the least. If nothing else you can always get a Po Box and have all mail directed there. This way any normal size packages that wont fit will be locked in a lock box,and they should just drop the key in your PO Box.

Either way it goes,I would seriously complain. I have lived in apartments with the built in a wall mail box at the front of the complex ,and when I had packages it was the guys job to bring them to my front door. Seriously, you have a post master general for a reason,to complain to. The very few problems I or my friend have had were both resolved by complaining to him. It works best when you hit the post office on a busy day and make a scene if you have to,holding up a long line will get your complaints heard better, because it embarrasses the Post Master.

Just like to quote Networks Howard Beale,
Quote
I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's work, banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TV's while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be. We know things are bad - worse than bad.

They're crazy. It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone.' Well, I'm not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot - I don't want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you've got to get mad.

You've got to say, 'I'm a HUMAN BEING, Goddamnit! My life has VALUE!' So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell,'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!'

I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: "I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"

Funny how most of what he said still applies today.....

I shouldn't stir a kettle after its simmered down, but I really want a TE, and I see that ctoomey is selling one on ebay with the sound fix and insisting that it is worth "well over $200" and I don't really like seeing this beautiful gem held for ransom like that.  Especially when I want one.  Only months ago, I could have (obviously should have) purchased a brand new, unopened, shrinkwrapped with a cherry on top TE for $180.  The rarity hasn't climbed that far in a few months, and I have to agree with Michael that most people could easily do the sound mod themselves.  I believe in giving a guy a fair shake, but when you whore out a turbo express, man that's just wrong.
The Turbo was Dual Core when Dual Core wasn't cool . . .

I think www.tzd.com may still sell them new for $180. If not,you can always pick up a couple of great condition used ones for around $200,do the fix,and be just as well off if not better.

Turbo Zone Direct STILL has a few TE units left, go buy one already and keep it on the DL.  Read Ctoomey's auction again, he does not "insist" that a nice TE is worth over $200, he says that he 'believes' the whole package (with AC adapter) to be worth well over $200.  Is ctoomey exaggerating?  Yes, but he's not ransoming it off for $200-300 BIN like some other sellers do.  Even if you got both items at TZD, they would cost still you $200 and on ebay they are more expensive (that's why TZD instituted a one per customer limit).  I don't know what his reserve is, but it looks like it's been met and people are willingly bidding away.  Frankly, people on ebay are ill-informed enough to pay really high prices for a nice TE/GT.  I don't think ctoomey is doing anything wrong as long as he's not buying units from BT and reselling them after doing the fix.
