very cool! so they only released 61 hu card games? thats really not alot. so i guess it was one a month for 61 months? so if the first month was october 1987 (or november??) then 61 would be at the end of 1992, but it cant be if its bomberman 94.  confusing ne?

maybe it was just every time the released a new hucard and skipped a few months.

HUDSON only released 61 HuCard games.

There are way more than 61 HuCard games, though, many released by other publishers.

26 is certainly Aoi Blink. 48 was probably the Ten no Koe Bank.

The release dates of both titles roughly coincide with the "missing" numbers.

this was also one of my earliest thoughts back in time, but i'm certainly sure that aoi blink was never be supposed to be a hudson vol.
about the ten no koe bank i'm not sure, resp. can't deny it, since i never heard or read something concerning that. but why a piece of hardware add-on should be numbered and put in the reg. softlineup?

If Aoi Blink was a Hudson game, why was it not intended to be part of the game lineup?

For the record, I know nothing about "Aoi Blink" so forgive me if there is a super-obvious reason I'm blissfully ignorant of.

hmm..may be it's a little bit difficult to explain as well to understand. but for aoi blink, hudson soft just did the work for (executive), while NHK Enterprise, the holder of the license of the original anime-serie by tezuka osamu, was the publisher of it. similar to many compile shmups, which where developed by them, but puplished by others and in some cases not even credited.

OK, that makes sense, but by that rule games like Gunhed shouldn't be numbered either, right?

And what about Bonk (PC Genjin)? Wasn't Bonk done by RED and just published by Hudson Soft?

And R-Type? You know, with R-Type it's funny. Hudson is credited on the dual-HuCard release, but there is no mention of Hudson having anything to do with the CD version. They aren't even listed as a publisher for the CD version. Either way, Irem holds the license, so those shouldn't be numbered either.

Oh, well, it'll probably never make sense anyway.

it's always the question of who is the publisher/purchaser. in the case of gunhed it was hudson as well for any RED titles. hudson had many game developers under contract which made the main part for each of their games.

in case of r-type i'm quite not sure, but as i always understood, hudson programmed the hucard version, while irem take over them later, added some cut-scenes and puplished it under their own label again as the complete cd. seems to be complicated since we have no insight in all the contract and license stuff behind each game with all its agreements and rights. may someone here knows more about to tell :)
