Tip 4 (Grand-daddy!),

Oh man, haha. I have read this before and laughed at Victor Ireland's nerd efforts on writing that. Though I haven't tried doing that yet, I still have no clue how to do that.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

These games also seems like fun, but I am confused. Which one came first? What are the PCE versions called? Are they cheap?

1988/89: Alien Crush (JP/US)
1990: Devil Crash / Devil's Crush (JP/US)

Prices fluctuate, but the US versions of both should be had for pretty cheap, if you can find them.  Prices for the Japanese versions are currently going for $4-$15 on Yahoo Japan.

Thanks for that. I think I'm going to get Devil Crash very soon. It's the better one, right?

I prefer AC.

So DC is certainly the one you should get.

I've not played Devil Crash that much yet; but how do you save your game? Is it really obvious and I'm being a bit stupid?
No you are just fine, it's not obvious at all. To save your game, pause during game, press select, and then the II button (maybe I button, I forget). A save game screen will pop up and you select which slot you want to save in. Note that this won't work in boss rooms though, only on the main board.
Great. I'll try that tonight.
Cheers.

Yes, Devil Crash is the one to get.
