Richard Garriott goes to space!
« on: September 30, 2007, 06:41:54 PM »
I don't really like the Ultima series at all (they're too boring and Underworld just PISSES me off especially when I have to start off in the dark on my gamma-challenged monitor) nor do I like much space stuff but Richard Garriott is a nice guy with some good game design philosophies and a cool house plus a few of you here like his games so I thought I'd link this.

If that paragraph sounded kind of mean and rushed and run-on, it's because I'm getting a headache and I really am rushing this. Sorry. :(

Also, I did not know NCSoft was American. I thought they were Korean.

EDIT: Wow, I thought Richard Garriott was a game creator, turns out he's just a gamer. Oh and DNF comes out tomorrow.    I thought I would get a snapshot of Yahoo's dumbassery before they fixed it. It's a big screenshot (2.25MB according to XP), so here's a small version, click for the big version:

This is why I hate Yahoo. They never get ANYTHING RIGHT, and they report year-old shit as brand new news. Too bad I can't get the rest of my family to use Google, I guess it's not graphical enough.  Oh well, I have my own personal Firefox, so they can use their shitty IE6 with Yahoo without bothering me.

I loved Ultima Underworld! I played all the way through number 2, but I've never finished the first one.

The game is too damn big...but it's not just Ultima Underworld, it's also Arena. I REALLY want to play Daggerfall though, even though I heard it's buggy and the NPCs have shit interaction, it would be cool to do everything Morrowind does in DOOM graphics.

The badass boxart doesn't hurt either.

Wow, lucky guy ;) .

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Unrelated to this topic, but related to my previous post, I found a working download of Daggerfall! Despite some bugs (which seem to be the Dosbox emulator itself) this game rules.

PM me if you want the link.
